The Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) provides incentives for the installation of  distributed energy resources (DER) that are used to serve a part of the electric load. These incentive rates differ by the Utility you are in within California, type of storage installed, and the which step in the incentive timeline applies for your project.

In HOMER Grid, you can apply a SGIP incentive to the following components:

Solar

Storage

Example:

Let us take a battery of 100 kWh and the following SGIP incentive applying to it:

sgip_example

Since the incentive is 400$ for every kWh of storage installed, the total credit is = 400 $/ kWh* 100 kWh= 40.000 $
