The Import Tab within HOMER Grid allows you to launch the Tariff Builder application, import a saved tariff created within the Tariff Builder, and combine a retail and network tariff.
There are two steps to creating and importing your custom tariff:
Step 1: Launch HOMER Tariff Builder Application
Clicking this button would open the new stand-alone application as shown below:
The Tariff Builder application creates a file called a “JSON” file that first needs to be saved on your local desktop. Once you have the tariff .json file created using the Tariff Builder, you can import the file into HOMER Grid using the Import Tariff option in Utility. Below is a screenshot of what happens when you click on "Import". Observe the red highlight, it allows only .jsons files to be imported. Only .json files created by the Tariff Builder application are acceptable formats.
HOMER Grid allows you to import and combine a network and retail tariff file.
If you have created two json files using the Tariff Builder, one json for your network rates and another json for your retailer rates, then you can combine the two jsons with this option. Click "Choose Network tariff file", and import your first json file. Then click the "Choose Retailer tariff file" and import your second json file. Click ok. You can then verify that rates/charges from both your tariffs have been combined into a single tariff.
